Greenland is considered part of North America, it is an island nation in the Arctic and the North Atlantic Ocean and located northeast of Canada.
Greenland is roughly 27% the size of the U.S, to put that into more manageable terms it is about three times the size of the state of Texas. The total land are comes out to 2,166,086 sq km.
The terrain of Greenland is characterized mostly by flat desolate land and sloping ice caps. It has a mountain range with a rocky coast line.
